A pedestrian light counts down for nobody.
Beside it, a closed café
glows from the inside
where a radio hums a muffled song.
Further down, a fuel station.
Its tankers sit empty.

A single rabbit sits in its light.
The road opens to the forest
where the insects hum the whole night through.
